Survive2Thrive will be starting a survivor basket drive in October called “What would you grab?”
Survivors of domestic violence must leave most of their personal belongings when they leave their homes unexpectedly. As a part of our Sanctuary Program, we are collecting emergency items for baskets that we will distribute to the survivor families that we support. We will also be providing common cooking items (plates, glasses, pots, utensils, etc).
Items for the basket might include:
- Sanitary Napkins
- Advil or Tylenol
- Shaving Cream (for men and women)
- Razors (for men and women)
- Wet Naps
- Cotton Balls
- Hairbrush, Comb, Etc.
The only stipulations: Supplies need to be full sized, not trial or travel sized, unused/unopened, and bought in man, woman, and unisex versions.
We are asking the community to host their own “Housewarming Parties” during the holiday season as a fun way to educate your friends and family about these families in need and give back. Form an assembly line and provide comfort for a survivor in need. A trip to the dollar store could yield a nice full basket for less than the cost of two trips to Starbucks.
We can help you with the logistics! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
